Pacific youth are at the forefront of the climate crisis, which has important implications for their health and rights. Youth in Fiji currently bear a disproportionate burden of poor experiences and outcomes related to their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). This study underscores the urgency for addressing existing social and health inequities in climate and disaster governance. It highlights four key implications for reducing youth SRHR risks through whole-of-society approaches at multiple (sociocultural, institutional. governance) levels.

The Haze Outlook 2024 report provides a risk assessment of the probability of a transboundary haze incident affecting Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore for the year ahead. This is based on research conducted by the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA), a leading think tank in the region. This is the 6th edition of the Haze Outlook, and it has emerged as a leading report on this important issue. The Haze Outlook 2024 was directed by Simon Tay, Chairman, SIIA and Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. The authors are Aaron Choo, Khor Yu-Leng, and Nithiyah Tamilwanan, who are respectively Senior Assistant Director (Special Projects and Sustainability), Associate Director (Sustainability) at the SIIA, and Research Associate at Segi Enam Advisors. All views expressed in the report are those of the authors, unless otherwise credited.

Prepared by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, this report attempts to answer key questions related to India’s energy trajectory such as how much energy does India need to achieve the high value of Human Development Index (HDI); what are pathways to achieve this; what are the energy mix projections for this until 2070 (our declared net-zero target year); what would be the cost of electricity to the end user; what would be the carbon emissions until 2070; what would be the investments required for energy transitions towards net-zero at 2070; estimation of other challenges and opportunities (RE integration, the requirement of critical minerals, Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS), natural gas, ethanol, hydrogen) in energy transitions towards achieving net-zero in 2070.
